Kulcha Kolektiv: a 365-day youth, sport, culture and enterprise precinct
Turn the unused edge of a shopping centre into the centre of opportunity: play, create, learn, trade, belong.

Seeking a property partner, pilot site and founding sponsors; capital follows evidence

The need
Why this matters
Young people have talent and energy but too few places to practise, perform, train and earn. Meanwhile many retail centres have under-used perimeter space. Kulcha Kolektiv connects the two: kids come for play, families stay for the experience, and opportunity happens in between.
Why it can work: The concept builds on what already works: lifestyle markets that help local entrepreneurs trade, fan-day events that draw families, and Flow’s own learning model. It is designed to start lean, prove demand and expand, so the precinct is modular from day one. It is a concept proposal: the site and partners are not yet confirmed.
The project
What we’ll deliver
- 01Everyday mode: 5-a-side courts, a creator market, food and a clubhouse: play, eat, create, learn
- 02Live mode: the same space hosts big-screen sport, music, fan days and cultural events
- 03Flow Lab: an EduPod with gaming, coding, AI and tutoring
- 04Youth pathway: learn, discover, develop, create, showcase, trade, work, tracked on one Flow Connect profile
- 05Enterprise pipeline: from idea to market stall, pop-up and container store, then into formal retail

Investment
Where the money goes
The precinct is designed to become self-funding over time: sponsorship, naming rights, food and drink, court hire, events, retail, media and ticketing are planned to fund youth programmes, skills, jobs and enterprise. Terms and amounts are agreed per site after feasibility.
- Phase 1Feasibility: site, capacity, approvals, utilities
- Phase 2Pilot: courts, clubhouse, stage, first traders, Flow Lab
- Phase 3Expand: more retail, gaming, creator spaces
- Phase 4–5Live events, then a replicable national model (future vision)
Partner roles
How each partner makes it happen
Companies
Court naming rights, stage and big-screen partners, a digital arena partner, or youth-development funding for coaching, equipment and training.
Property owners
Offer under-used perimeter space and co-design a phased pilot that adds footfall and local enterprise.
Government
Link youth employment, SMME support and skills accreditation to a real, busy place.
Municipalities
Support zoning, event licensing, safety, traffic and public transport access.
